Harpeth Hall is looking for an HBCU grad with a background in education to fill its open position of Upper School and Middle School Latin Teacher.

Harpeth Hall is an independent college preparatory school for young women where each student realizes her highest intellectual ability in the sciences, the humanities, and the arts, and discovers her creative and athletic talents. Harpeth Hall develops responsible citizens who have global perspectives and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world. The position is full-time Latin teacher to teach in both the middle and upper divisions, grades 7-12. Harpeth Hall is committed to an inclusive program, and candidates with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion work are especially encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be an experienced educator capable of teaching various levels of Latin including AP Latin.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful listener, who communicates clearly and effectively with students, colleagues, and families, both orally and in writing. Professionalism, a positive outlook, a good sense of humor, and a student-centered approach to teaching are highly valued. Harpeth Hall seeks a colleague who enjoys being part of a highly collaborative team, with a commitment to interdisciplinary projects and innovative pedagogy.

A bachelor’s degree is required. Experience in curriculum development, at least three years of full-time teaching experience, and a master’s degree are preferred. Comfort and familiarity with the use of relevant technology to enhance learning are also essential.
