When you grow, we grow.</p><p></p><p><b> Heres just some of what you can look forward to:</b></p><ul><li><b>Weekly Pay: </b>Get paid every weekso that you can manage your money on your terms.</li><li><b> Free BJs Memberships: </b>Enjoy a complimentary The Club Card Membership, plus a free Supplemental Membership for someone in your household.*</li><li><b>Generous Paid Time Off: </b>Take the time you need with vacation, personal, sick days, holidays, bereavement, and jury duty leave.*</li><li><b>Flexible and Affordable Health Benefits: </b>Choose from three medical plans, and access optional dental, vision, Health Savings Account (HSA), and flexible spending account options to fit your lifestyle.*</li><li><b>401(k) Retirement Savings Plan: </b>Build your financial future with a company match (available to team members 18 and older).*</li><li><b>Employee Stock Purchase Plan:</b> Accumulate funds through after-tax payroll deductions that can be used to purchase shares of BJs common stock at a 15% discount.*</li></ul><p></p><p>*Eligibility requirements vary by position.</p><p> The Associate Merchant is responsible for the merchandising functions for assigned categories, contributing to the development of business objectives, achieving sales and margin goals, executing the merchandising strategy, and providing analytical support, insights, and recommendations to the merchandise team.</p><p></p><p> Additional responsibilities include:</p><p></p><ul><li>Collaborates on the development of sales and margin plans and sales forecasts for assigned categories.</li><li> Manages and controls open-to-buy positioning and buys merchandise for assigned categories.</li><li> Participates in negotiations directly with vendors on merchandise pricing, quantity, delivery and terms.</li><li> Identifies and implements merchandise packaging and presentation techniques that enhance productivity and execution.</li><li> Objectively assesses merchandise mix based on consumer trends and business needs to develop planograms and to provide recommendations on assortments.</li><li> Reviews advertising and promotion analytics to evaluate performance, refine merchandise plans and suggest adjustments to strategy.</li><li> Responsible for the implementation of category pricing strategy and executes exit strategies on slow selling items.</li><li> Assesses pricing based on knowledge of competitive landscape, sales and margin objectives, and price indexing and targets.</li><li> Researches competitive landscape and consumer trends to ensure alignment with strategy.</li><li> Identifies merchandising risks and opportunities and presents recommendations.</li><li> Provides effective and supportive direction and guidance to Merchant Assistants.</li><li> Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p></p><p><br /><b> Requirements</b></p><ul><li>Bachelors degree in business or operations related field</li><li>2-5 years of professional merchandising or retail operations experience</li><li>Knowledge of vendor negotiation techniques</li><li>Strong analytical and critical thinking skills</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment</li></ul><p></p><p><span>In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJs Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $67,500.00 - $89,000.00</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.</span></p>
