In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.</p><p></p><p>We are searching for the best talent for a <b>Quality Control Technician III</b>.</p><p></p><p>The <b>Quality System Technician III</b> is responsible for performing advanced and complex inspection activities with minimal supervision in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role functions as a technical expert and lead inspector, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to junior team members while ensuring full compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The Technician III collaborates closely with R&D, Quality, and Engineering teams, contributes to internal and external audit activities, and independently responds to Health Authority inquiries related to field actions.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><p><b>Inspection & Technical Expertise - </b></p><ul><li>Perform detailed <b>dimensional, visual, and functional inspections</b> of incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished medical devices with minimal guidance.</li><li>Operate with a high level of <b>self-motivation and autonomy</b>, requiring little to no instruction for routine and complex inspection tasks.</li><li>Serve as a <b>lead inspector</b> on assigned projects and provide inspection support to R&D initiatives as needed.</li></ul><p><b>Blueprint & Design Analysis - </b></p><ul><li>Read, interpret, and apply <b>complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T</b> requirements.</li><li>Understand or learn <b>Design for Inspection (DFI)</b> principles and recommend new or improved inspection methods as required.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues using basic research, data analysis, and problem-solving techniques.</li><li>Act as a <b>technical resource and subject matter expert</b> for quality-related issues within the assigned area.</li></ul><p><b>Measurement & Inspection Equipment - </b></p><ul><li>Utilize high-precision inspection tools including <b>calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and optical comparators</b>.</li><li>Operate and support advanced inspection equipment such as <b>Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)</b> and <b>Sylvac Scan systems</b> (preferred).</li><li>Assist with troubleshooting inspection equipment issues as needed.</li></ul><p><b>Compliance, Documentation & Audits - </b></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate and complete quality records in compliance with <b>medical device regulatory standards</b> and calibration requirements.</li><li>Generate and review <b>First Article Inspection (FAI)</b> reports.</li><li>Actively participate in <b>internal and external audits</b> with minimal supervision.</li><li>Communicate business-related quality issues, risks, or improvement opportunities to the next level of management.</li><li>Independently communicate with and address <b>Health Authority inquiries</b> related to field actions, when required.</li></ul><p><b>ERP & Material Flow - </b></p><ul><li>Manage inspection status and material movement within <b>ERP systems</b> such as <b>BtB and SAP</b>.</li></ul><p><b>Non-Conformance Management - </b></p><ul><li>Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming material.</li><li>Initiate <b>Material Rejection Notices (MRNs)</b> and collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams on root cause analysis and corrective actions.</li></ul><p><b>Leadership & Mentorship - </b></p><ul><li>Provide <b>guidance, mentoring, and technical direction</b> to less experienced inspectors.</li><li>Ensure team adherence to all <b>Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE)</b> policies and that required resources are available and maintained in good condition.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications / Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>A High School diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>An Associate’s degree in an Engineering or technical field is preferred.</li></ul><p><b>Experience - </b></p><ul><li><b>6-8 years</b> of mechanical inspection experience in a <b>highly regulated manufacturing environment</b> (medical devices, aerospace, or equivalent)</li></ul><p><b>Skills & Competencies</b></p><ul><li>Advanced proficiency with <b>precision measurement tools and inspection software</b></li><li>Strong understanding of <b>GD&T and engineering documentation</b></li><li>Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and geometry</li><li>Proficient in <b>Microsoft Office</b> and database/ERP systems</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead inspection activities, and mentor others</li><li>Strong communication and documentation skills</li></ul><p><b>Physical & Vision Requirements</b></p><ul><li>Ability to lift up to <b>25 pounds</b></li><li>Must meet vision requirements, including <b>color vision and depth perception</b>, to accurately identify defects</li></ul><p></p><p><i>Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
