Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech Overview: The Staff R&D Mechanical Engineer is a seasoned individual contributor responsible for delivering engineering expertise across all stages of the product lifecycle. This role establishes scientific and engineering methods based on proven research and supports product teams in developing industry‑leading mechanical solutions.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide advanced mechanical engineering support throughout product design, development, verification, validation, and commercialization.</li><li>Apply proven scientific methodologies to build high‑quality, innovative products.</li><li>Investigate and document reported incidents to maintain product quality and reliability.</li><li>Review testing, verification, and validation activities to ensure compliance with product and customer specifications.</li><li>Develop proposals for new R&D initiatives for inclusion in capital expenditure budgets.</li><li>Prepare technical reports, memoranda, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Coach and guide junior engineers in methods, processes, and best practices.</li><li>Demonstrate and apply Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in daily work.</li></ul>Preferred Experience:<ul><li>Experience in catheter development or related medical device engineering.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Proven experience in mechanical engineering within an R&D environment.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to cross‑functional teams.</li></ul>Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
